Meet Rhi: pregnancy yoga teacher, trainee doula and mum of three

Hi, I’m Rhi

I’m a mum of three, experienced yoga teacher and a trainee doula — and it’s fair to say I’m slightly obsessed with pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

I’ve been blessed with three pregnancies and births in four years, and while each looked completely different — low risk, high risk, hospital birth and home birth — yoga was a constant. I can’t know how any of my births would have unfolded without it, but I truly feel that the movement and breathing I’d practised gave me the confidence to listen to my body, work through each contraction and birth three pretty big babies with just my breath for comfort.

While yoga helped me through birth, my mum group helped, and continues to help, me through motherhood and all the changes that come with it. Having other women to talk to honestly, compare notes with and ask the questions you don’t always feel comfortable asking elsewhere has been invaluable.

That’s why I created the Pregnancy Yoga Club: to bring movement and community together. I want to pass on what I’ve learned through both my training and my own experiences, give other women practical tools for pregnancy and birth, and create a space where they can meet people going through it at the same time.
